The B09 features the same vertical clutch column wheel as the B01, which is a pleasure to use. Each activation – start, stop, reset is smooth and operates with a light, but positive pressure. I've always liked the Premier line, but making a decision among the current lineup has been quite tough due to a number of reasons. Does anyone have experience with both the B09 and the B01? How do they compare (aside from the B01 offering a date and the B09 being manual wound)?

Breitling watches are nice; very nice. There should be no question of the finishing and reliability but since they aren't hyped and sell for pennies on the dollar pre-owned, people have reservations. The B01 movement and the derivatives are great chronograph movements, one of the best out there.
The Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph 40, nicknamed the “Pistachio” is arguably the best model Breitling has released in modern times. Now sure, it looks like a Patek , and that’s fair, but in reality, it has enough differences to stand out on its own. What We Know. New for 2023, the Breitling Premier Chronograph line gets a refresh in a 42mm, B01-powered form. This is a historically important collection to Breitling as it represents the shift the brand made in the 1940s from core utilitarian tool-watches to something with a bit more panache. Before putting the movement into the Black Bay Chrono, Tudor supplies Breitling with a few replacement components — a tungsten winding rotor, a variable-inertia balance wheel, and a silicon balance spring. Breitling then modifies the movement, replacing the B01’s 30-minute sub-dial with the Black Bay Chrono’s 45-minute chronograph register.

Kelly Jasper. January 14, 2014. In anticipation of Baselworld 2014, Omega presents an update to the iconic 1969 Speedmaster Mark II. While most of the changes are on the inside (including an in-house co-axial movement), the first thing you’ll notice is that the tonneau-style case has remained unaltered, lending a retro look to this watch.
