If you tend to wear jeans a lot, because the Etoupe is a lighter color, you *might* actually be very happy with the fact that Etain is a bit darker and probably less likely to have color transfer.
Etain and etoupe are very similar. When I tried to purchase my belt kit in etoupe (which was meant to fit my B in etoupe) they offered me etain, because etoupe was not available at that moment. From what I know, etoupe is a H classic colour so it will be available mostly every season but etain is a seasonal colour although they seem to keep producing bags in this colour as it is popular. But they can completely stop producing them any time they feel like it. The Epsom is an embossed leather, not like the Togo, which is natural grain. As such, the leather feels more stiff but it can hold the shape much better. The same color will also looks brighter on the Epsom leather. I've not seen an Etain in Epsom. Compared the etoupe I prefer etain for a k28. Etain is less casual and transitions better from day to night. Between etain and black I am not sure.
